Personalised Guidance

Korean Skincare by Skin Type

The Korean skincare approach works best when it is tailored to your skin. Different skin types have different needs — and the ingredients, textures and routine steps that help one person may not be right for another.

This section provides skin-type-specific guidance for building a Korean skincare routine that supports your skin where it needs it most. Each guide covers recommended ingredients, product categories to prioritise, what to be cautious of, and a simple starting routine.

General Information Only. This page provides educational skincare information and is not medical advice. If you have persistent acne, eczema, rosacea, allergies, skin irritation, pigmentation changes or any medical skin condition, please consult a qualified dermatologist or healthcare professional before changing your skincare routine. Individual results vary. Always patch test new products.

Dry Skin

Dry skin lacks sufficient lipids in the outer skin layer, leading to tightness, flakiness and dullness. Korean skincare addresses dry skin with deeply hydrating formulations, rich moisturisers and barrier-strengthening ingredients.

Not sure of your skin type?

Many people find it difficult to determine their exact skin type, and skin can change with seasons, diet, hormones, environment and age. Some general pointers:

  • If skin feels tight and uncomfortable after cleansing, and rarely looks shiny — likely dry
  • If skin looks shiny all over within an hour of cleansing — likely oily
  • If the T-zone shines but cheeks feel normal or dry — likely combination
  • If products frequently sting, burn or cause redness — likely sensitive
  • If skin feels tight in some areas but shiny in others, or looks dull despite no dryness — may be dehydrated

Skin type is not fixed — it can change over time. Focus on how your skin feels and looks rather than a single label.
